A total of six Tar Heels were selected Monday to the Associated Press All-ACC football teams, highlighted by four First Team choices.

Running backs Javonte Williams and Michael Carter joined receiver Dyami Brown and linebacker Chazz Surratt in earning First Team honors, while quarterback Sam Howell and offensive lineman Joshua Ezeudu each earned spots on the Second Team.

Williams and Carter each rushed for over 1,000 yards this season as one of the country’s top tailback duos, helping the Tar Heels set numerous school records along the way.

The team’s top deep threat in the passing game, Brown was the only unanimous selection to the First Team after becoming the first receiver in school history to post back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. His 21 career touchdown catches also place him in a tie for second on the UNC all-time list.

Surratt led the team in tackles for the second straight year with 91 and also piled up six sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss.

Despite taking a bit of a backseat to the running backs, Howell still finished with 27 touchdown passes and an average of 304.7 yards per game through the air.

Ezeudu earned his first career All-ACC selection by posting a 77.8 pass-blocking grade–the highest among the team–and helping to anchor an offensive line that paved the way for the explosive Tar Heel offense.

The AP All-ACC selections are decided by a panel of 14 sportswriters who regularly cover the league for newspapers or other broadcast outlets.
