The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association revealed its 2021 All-South Region teams on Wednesday, with a total of seven Tar Heels earning the honor.

Attackers Jamie Ortega and Katie Hoeg were each First Team selections alongside midfielder Ally Mastroianni, defender Emma Trenchard and goalie Taylor Moreno.

Defender Caroline Wakefield and attacker Scottie Rose Growney each earned spots on the Second Team.

Being selected to the All-Region teams makes all seven of these Tar Heel standouts eligible to earn All-American status.

UNC has compiled a perfect 19-0 record this season and is currently awaiting an NCAA Tournament second round matchup against Stony Brook on Saturday. The Tar Heels have won their last 25 games overall–a program record–when including a 7-0 mark during the shortened 2020 campaign.
