For the third time in seven games this season, UNC freshman quarterback Sam Howell has been named the ACC Quarterback of the Week following a fantastic performance in the Tar Heels’ 43-41 loss at Virginia Tech in six overtimes on Saturday.

Howell threw for 348 yards–his third time hitting the 300-yard mark in the last four games–while tying a UNC single-game record with five touchdown passes. He did all this without throwing an interception or turning the ball over once.

The former Sun Valley High School standout will lead the Tar Heels into a rivalry game this weekend, as Duke comes to Chapel Hill on Saturday.
