The ACC revealed its football awards for Week Six on Monday, with UNC freshman quarterback Sam Howell named the league’s Quarterback and Rookie of the Week–the second time he has swept both of those awards this season.

Howell threw for a career-high 376 yards and four touchdowns in the Tar Heels’ 38-22 victory in Atlanta over Georgia Tech. He also completed 33 of his 51 passes, with those numbers and his yardage total setting new UNC freshman records.

His 376 yards were the most by any Tar Heel quarterback since Mitchell Trubisky threw for 439 in a road win at Florida State back in 2016.

Howell earned both of these weekly honors in Week One as well, after leading the Tar Heels to a comeback victory over South Carolina in his first collegiate game.
