A showdown between two of the nation’s top women’s tennis teams on Saturday in Nashville saw No. 3 UNC defeat the No. 2 Vanderbilt Commodores by a score of 5-2.

The Tar Heels (6-0) remained undefeated in doubles competition to take the early lead, before getting singles victories from Alexa Graham, Cameron Morra, Jessie Aney and Alle Sanford to clinch the team win.

Of those singles victories, only Sanford’s lasted into the third set.

Next on the docket for the Tar Heels is a trip to Seattle, as they look to defend their ITA National Indoor Championship. That event will last from Friday, Feb. 8-Monday, Feb. 11.
