Only one time in 16 matches this season has the top-ranked UNC women’s tennis team failed to win the doubles point.
That came Friday afternoon in Miami, as the Hurricanes took an early 1-0 lead over the Tar Heels–before UNC stormed back with four consecutive singles victories in straight sets on the way to a 4-3 victory.
The Tar Heel wins came from Jessie Aney (6-1, 6-3), Chloe Oullet-Pizer (6-1, 7-6), Alexa Graham (6-4, 6-3) and Makenna Jones (6-1, 6-3).
UNC improved to 15-1 this season with the victory, including a 4-0 record in conference play. Miami, meanwhile, dropped to 8-4 (4-1 ACC) after losing its first ACC match of the season.
