The NCAA released its annual attendance numbers on Thursday for the 2018-19 men’s basketball season, with UNC ranking third in the nation with an average of 19,715 fans filling the Smith Center per game.
Only Syracuse (21,992) and Kentucky (21,695) ranked higher in average attendance. Those two teams flip-flopped from the previous season, which saw Kentucky lead the way with Syracuse in second.
This marks the second straight year UNC has finished third, although the Tar Heels saw an increase of 1,037 fans per game this past season.
