The UNC baseball team was on the wrong end of the score-line for both games on Monday against NC State, as the Wolfpack completed the weekend series sweep.

NC State began the day by finishing off a 6-1 victory that had been postponed in the eighth inning on Saturday, then finished the evening with an 8-3 win to close out the series.

Neither team scored during the conclusion of game two, but the Wolfpack (8-9) scored six runs in the first three innings of the series finale to take complete control.

UNC received a pair of RBI singles from Eric Grintz and a solo home run by Hunter Stokely, but that would not be enough to pull out of the early hole.

NC State added a two-run home run in the seventh inning to keep UNC (13-9) from putting together any kind of comeback attempt.

Will Sandy was credited with the loss on the mound after lasting just 1.1 innings and allowing NC State to jump out to a 5-0 lead through the top half of the second frame.
