In thrilling, come-from behind fashion, UNC’s Simon Soendergaard and Mac Kiger defeated Furman’s Jake Bhangdia and Jake Munns in the finals of the ITA Regional Doubles Championships on Tuesday at the Cary Tennis Center.

Soendergaard and Kiger dropped the first set 6-7, before taking the next two sets 6-4, 10-7 to claim the title.

As a result, the duo qualified for the 2019 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which will run from Nov. 6-10 in Newport Beach, Calif.

Tuesday was their sixth straight win in the tournament.
