UNC men’s tennis junior Josh Peck defeated Tennessee’s Adam Walton (7-5, 4-6, 6-3) on Sunday afternoon to win the Gamecock Fall Invite in Columbia, South Carolina.

The victory gave Peck the championship in the “Flight A” portion of the event, which included multiple brackets.

Walton was the top seed in this particular 32-player bracket, and had previously eliminated UNC sophomore Mac Kiger in the Third Round. Peck, meanwhile, won five consecutive matches after being seeded 15th.

This was the first event of the season for the Tar Heels, who will be back in action next Saturday in Tulsa for the pre-qualifying portion of the ITA Men’s All-American Championships.
