Senior Makenna Jones and sophomore Cameron Morra combined Saturday to win the Flight One Doubles Title at the Furman Fall Classic, the first event of the season for the UNC women’s tennis team.
The third-ranked team in the nation, Jones and Morra defeated Duke’s Chloe Beck and Meible Chi by a score of 8-5 in the Flight One finals.
This was the third match win in a row for the Tar Heel duo, which came out on top in a bracket consisting of eight teams in total.
In addition to winning in doubles on Saturday, Morra will join teammate Alexa Graham in playing for a singles flight title on Sunday.
