As he prepares to get the Tar Heel football program ready for its game against Western Carolina this weekend, UNC head coach Mack Brown is also getting ready to watch his daughter, Katherine Ryan, compete on “Jeopardy!” this Friday at 7 p.m.
“We need everybody to watch and pull for her,” Brown told reporters on Wednesday. “All these parents can pull for their kids in sports. I can pull for mine in Jeopardy. I’m not smart enough to be on ‘Jeopardy,’ but I’m glad she is.”
Ryan is listed on the show’s website of upcoming contestants as a nonprofit executive who is originally from Chapel Hill. She now lives in Redondo Beach, California.
The episode — which is pre-taped — is also one of the show’s last hosted by the legendary Alex Trebek, who passed away in November after a bout with pancreatic cancer.
