UNC senior Janelle Bailey was one of 20 players selected Friday to the watch list for the Lisa Leslie Award, which is presented annually to the top center in women’s college basketball.
This marks the third year in a row that Bailey has been on the watch list for this award, and she finished among the top 10 finalists in each of the last two seasons.
With averages of 14.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game last season, Bailey was also named an All-ACC selection.
Bailey will be a key piece to this year’s Tar Heel team, as a veteran leader on a team full of talented newcomers.
UNC is scheduled to begin the season at home on Nov. 25 against Radford.
