Currently riding an eight-game win streak–including a record-breaking sweep over Boston College this past weekend–the Diamond Heels were able to hold on to their No. 5 ranking in the D1Baseball.com Top 25 released on Monday.

In a week where the top six teams remained the same as last week’s, UNC (26-6, 12-3 ACC) remains one of three ACC schools among the top five.

Oregon State (28-1) is still the top team in the nation, with No. 2 Louisville, No. 3 TCU and No. 4 Clemson the only other squads ranked ahead of the Tar Heels.

The ACC has five teams among the poll this week, including No. 20 Virginia and No. 24 Wake Forest.

Only the SEC–which has seven of its schools in the top 25–has more ranked squads.

One of those teams, No. 14 South Carolina, will have a chance to face the Tar Heels this Tuesday at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte.

Following that non-conference rivalry matchup, UNC will then face crosstown rival NC State three times at Boshamer Stadium this weekend.
