The watch list for the 15th annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award was released on Tuesday, with UNC sophomore Caden O’Brien selected as one of the 75 players to make the cut.

The award is given each year to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball.

O’Brien made 30 appearances for the Tar Heels last season, posting a 2.63 ERA and a 7-0 record. He became just the ninth pitcher in program history to win at least seven decisions without a loss in a single season.

UNC is set to begin the 2019 baseball season on Friday at Boshamer Stadium, when it hosts Xavier for a three-game series.
