NCAA Tournament soccer is coming back to Dorrance Field.

Carolina earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament Monday and will host North Florida in Chapel Hill in the tournament’s first round Thursday at 6 p.m.

This is the sixth consecutive season the Tar Heels will have played in the NCAA Tournament, the 14th time in 15 seasons under head coach Carlos Somoano and 32nd time overall. This year, UNC enters the field with a 9-5-4 overall record and a 2-2-4 mark in ACC play. On the other side, North Florida brings in a 12-5-1 record, having won the ASUN Conference championship to qualify for the tournament.

Should UNC beat the Ospreys, it would advance to the second round to face No. 4 overall seed Maryland in College Park Sunday afternoon. As one of 16 seeded teams in the tournament, the Terrapins received a bye into the second round.

No. 2 Virginia, No. 5 SMU, No. 12 Stanford and No. 15 NC State represent the ACC among the seeded teams. Syracuse, Clemson, Duke and Notre Dame are in the field as unseeded teams. For a full look at the NCAA Tournament field, click here.
