The UNC men’s golf team took home its sixth title of the season on Sunday, winning the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational in Georgia by six strokes.

Competing at Forest Hills Golf Club (less than two miles from Augusta National Golf Club, the site of The Masters), Carolina led wire-to-wire against a 15-team field including Texas, Oklahoma State and Illinois. Senior Peter Fountain was UNC’s highest individual finisher, shooting 67 in round two and 69 in round three to finish six-under par and tie for third place. It’s Fountain’s best individual finish since 2022. David Ford and Dylan Menante tied for seventh at five-under.

As a team, Carolina shot 21-under for the tournament to clinch the title. Its six wins this season are the most since 1984-85. The Tar Heels have won 11 combined titles in the last two seasons, which equals the school record set between 1982 and 1984. UNC has now won 21 team titles in seven seasons under head coach Andrew DiBitetto.

An added bonus to the win? The Tar Heels earned free tickets to Monday’s practice round at The Masters.

Carolina will be back in action on April 19 for the opening day of the ACC Championship in Charlotte.
