The UNC men’s cross country team moved up to No. 10 in the latest edition of the sport’s Coaches Poll Tuesday, its highest ranking in program history. The Tar Heels are one of three ACC programs in the top 10, along with No. 7 Wake Forest and No. 9 Syracuse.

The poll, in which Carolina moved up three spots from No. 13 last week, released after UNC’s most recent victory in the 46-team Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, PA, its second consecutive win in the event. Both the men’s and women’s teams came in first.

Sophomore Parker Wolfe won first overall, setting a new course record with a time of 23:02.4. Wolfe was named ACC Performer of the Week for the showing.

Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams have finished in first place in all three events so far this season. The women’s team is up to No. 11 in their poll. Both teams will compete next in the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, WI on October 14.
