After a 4-0 week which saw them defeat Campbell and sweep Louisville at home, the Diamond Heels have achieved their highest ranking of the season in multiple polls. D1Baseball.com’s poll has Carolina at No. 7, while Baseball America has the team at No. 4. The Baseball America ranking is UNC’s highest since the 2019 season. In the D1Baseball poll, No. 4 Clemson is the only ACC team to outrank Carolina, while the Tar Heels are the highest-ranked ACC side in the Baseball America poll (Clemson comes in at No. 10).

Several other ACC and in-state teams feature in both rankings, including No. 8/7 Wake Forest, No. 10/11 Florida State, No. 11/13 Duke, No. 13/12 East Carolina, No. 17/9 NC State and No. 18/14 Virginia.

Carolina sits at 39-11 overall and 20-7 in ACC play. It’s the first time the Tar Heels have won at least 20 regular-season ACC games since the 2018 season. That was also the last time the team won the ACC Coastal Division, which it clinched on Sunday. UNC has already clinched at least a share of the ACC regular season championship and can lock up the No. 1 seed in next week’s ACC Tournament with one win in this weekend’s series at Duke or one Clemson loss in its weekend series against Boston College.

Carolina’s regular-season home game slate is complete, though the Tar Heels are projected to host at least a regional in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. UNC is ranked No. 5 in the country in RPI.

The Diamond Heels will finish up the regular season this week, starting with a road trip to UNC-Wilmington on Tuesday night. Carolina defeated the Seahawks 11-0 at Boshamer Stadium earlier this season.
