A third transfer is joining the UNC women’s basketball program. Chloe Clardy, who spent the first three seasons of her career at Stanford, committed to the Tar Heels Sunday.
Clardy became a prominent player in the Cardinal’s rotation as a sophomore, starting 18 games and averaging 10.2 points per game while shooting 37.9 percent on three-pointers. As a junior during the 2025-26 season, Clardy only started 11 games but remained an integral piece of the team. She averaged a career-high 31.8 minutes per game and increased her scoring to 12.0 points per game, even as her three-point shooting dipped to 30.5 percent.
Originally from Conway, AR, Clardy was a decorated high school player. ESPN rated her as a four-star prospect and the No. 39 player in her class. Clardy won multiple Player of the Year honors in the state of Arkansas, including the Gatorade Player of the Year award in consecutive seasons (2022, 2023). As a senior, Clardy averaged almost 25 points per game while leading her high school to a state championship. She was named a Jordan Brand Classic All-American.
Clardy joins Oklahoma State’s Achol Akot and Syracuse’s Sophie Burrows as transfers to commit to UNC in recent days. The Tar Heels now have three outbound and three inbound players via the portal.
