With the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship set to begin in just under two weeks time, United States head coach Jill Ellis announced her 20-player roster for the U.S. National Team on Friday–with three former Tar Heel stars making the cut.
Goalkeeper Ashlynn Harris (Class of 2010) joins forward Crystal Dunn (2014) and midfielder Tobin Heath (2010) on the team, which will compete in the CONCACAF Championship from Oct. 4-17.
The event features eight countries and will be played at three venues across the United States, including WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
Finishing in the top three of the tournament will guarantee those nations a spot in the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France.
The U.S. will open play on Oct. 4 with a match against Mexico (7:30 p.m.)
