A total of five former UNC women’s soccer standouts were selected Thursday to the final 23-player roster for the U.S. National Team, which is just over a month away from beginning its run through the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Forwards Tobin Heath and Jessica McDonald will join goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris, defender Crystal Dunn and midfielder Allie Long in representing the Tar Heels across the pond in France.
UNC has more alumni on the roster than any other school. Virginia and Stanford are next on the list with three players apiece.
The World Cup will begin on June 11.
