Former UNC standout Coby White scored a career-high 35 points for the Chicago Bulls last night in a 124-122 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, his third consecutive game scoring at least 30 points off the bench.
As a result, the all-time leading scorer in North Carolina high school history becomes the first Bulls rookie to score at least 30 points in three straight games since another Tar Heel you may have heard of–Michael Jordan.
White’s 35 points on Tuesday were also one more than his career-high while at UNC last season, which was 34 points in win over Syracuse on Feb. 26, 2019.
So far in his rookie season with the Bulls–who selected him No. 7 overall in last June’s NBA Draft–White is averaging 12.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He has scored at least 20 points in eight of the 59 games he has played in.
