UNC’s Kenan Stadium is in the process of replacing its existing light installations with LED lights.
During the project, areas outside the north and south stadium entrances will be closed while a crane is installed. On June 20 and 21, the area outside the north entrance — including the Stadium Drive parking lot and spaces along the road — will be closed for construction. Vehicles must be removed from marked spaces by the end of June 19 or be subject to towing.
The Stadium Drive sidewalk will remain open, but the crosswalk will temporarily close as needed when the crane or other construction vehicles enter and exit the work zone.

On June 22 and 23, the area outside the south entrance will be closed for construction and crane installation. Pedestrians in the area should only use designated routes.

The project marks yet another construction effort in and around Kenan Stadium this summer. The northwest end of the Kenan Football Center is currently undergoing extensive renovations to build a fan zone outside the facility. Plans also remain in place for upgraded weight rooms and locker rooms inside the stadium.
