The honors keep on coming for Jenny Levy.

The UNC women’s lacrosse head coach, who has a national championship and world championship under her belt this summer, was named the National Coach of the Year by the Inside Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Tuesday.

This is the third time Levy has been named National Coach of the Year. Coincidentally, her two other honors came during UNC’s two other national championship years: 2013 and 2016.

Levy’s 2022 team was the first in school history to complete an undefeated season, finishing 22-0 with a win over Boston College in the title game. UNC’s appearance in the Final Four was its 10th in 13 years and 13th overall โ€” all under Levy. She is the only coach in the program’s 28-year history, and ranks third in NCAA Division I history with 395 career wins. Levy one of only five women’s lacrosse coaches in NCAA history to win three or more championships. In Carolina lore, she is part of an exclusive club of head coaches with three or more NCAA titles: Anson Dorrance, Karen Shelton, Willie Scroggs and Roy Williams.

Levy’s dominance also extends to ACC titles. The Tar Heels won their sixth consecutive ACC Tournament title in 2022 (no tournament was played in 2022), extending their ACC Tournament winning streak to 18 games. Levy was named ACC Coach of the Year for the third straight season and seventh overall.
