UNC Police released a picture of a “person of interest” in an alleged assault and robbery earlier this month.

Police initially said that a female student was walking with a friend along Cameron Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, when a suspect allegedly approached her, assaulted the victim and took her purse. Authorities say the suspect then fled toward Franklin Street.

No weapon was reported during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches in height with a slim build. The suspect was reportedly wearing a black zip-up jacket, blue jeans and a black hat.
