UNC Police are investigating a reported robbery on the Chapel Hill campus Tuesday night.
Police say a female UNC student was walking with a friend along Cameron Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday when a suspect allegedly approached her assaulted the victim and took her purse. Authorities say the suspect then fled toward Franklin Street.
Police describe the suspect as a black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches in height with a slim build. The suspect was reportedly wearing a black zip-up jacket, blue jeans and a black hat. No weapon was reported during the incident.
