Like many people on New Year’s Eve, the team at UNC Children’s Hospital decided to go dancing.

A group of pediatricians at the Chapel Hill hospital once again got their groove on to film another music video celebrating the new year and the work of the UNC Children’s community. At the beginning of 2021, the team made a video filmed to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” to thank the hospital for its hard work during the first full year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Stuart Gold, the star of the original video and now its sequel, said in a release through UNC Health that after another challenging year, the team wanted to make a follow-up.

“We thought last year was rough, but this year was even rougher,” said Gold, a pediatric oncologist. “We wanted to make people smile again. I was worried we couldn’t top last year, but I think this one was even better.”

This time, the video features even higher production value, an equally impressive wardrobe for Gold and is set to “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire. UNC Children’s said the performance, titled “Great Because We Have Each Other,” is to celebrate and thank its hard-working “health heroes.”

“This video is dedicated to everyone who works tirelessly in North Carolina Children’s to care for our wonderful children and their families,” said the Department of Pediatrics. “This has been difficult, but you all accomplish amazing work on a daily basis. We thank you; we value you, and we care about you.”

According to UNC Health, the video took around four hours to film on a weekend, with a team of more than 30 physicians joining in to be featured.
