Part of the UNC – Chapel Hill campus is without power Thursday evening.
Officials said as of 5:15 p.m. that the boundary of the outage was unknown but that it appeared a substation circuit had tripped.
UNC facility services officials said in a tweet that crews were on site and “are optimistic power will be restored in a couple of hours.”
We are experiencing a power outage to parts of campus due to a tripped circuit at our Cameron substation. Crews are on site to make the repair and are optimistic power will be restored in a couple of hours. More updates to come as the status changes.
