A single car crash on Weaver Dairy Road in Chapel Hill on Monday afternoon is causing road closures and delays at East Chapel Hill High School.

In a message sent to East Chapel Hill families and staff, Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools’ Jeff Nash said there is no power at the school. the main entrance of the school is also unable to be used and there is no access to the campus from the north end of Weaver Dairy Road.

Parents picking up students are asked to pick up at the baseball field.

Bus riders will also be late getting home, according to the message. Student drivers will also be unable to get out until buses have departed.

One person was transported to UNC hospitals with “non life-threatening injuries” as a result of the crash, according to Chapel Hill Community Safety Communications Specialist Ran Northam. Around 1,000 people are also without power.
