***UPDATE: Water has been resoted for costumers along U.S. Highway 70-A.***

A water main break along U.S. 70-A in Hillsborough led to a lane closure and a boil water advisory while repairs were being done on Thursday.

The town issued a statement saying a 12-inch break and malfunctioning valve caused water to be turned off in several ares along the highway. It estimated repairing the break will take around eight hours on Thursday with one lane of the highway being closed.

The affected areas where water was turned off included Prestwood Drive in the Forest Ridge neighborhood to Lawrence Road and the southeastern section of Meadowlands Drive from U.S. 70-A to Executive Court. A map provided by the town of Hillsborough shows Orange County Emergency Services being in the region where the boil advisory was issued.

A page about what to do during a boil advisory can be found on the town’s website.
