The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is releasing more details after conducting a death investigation in northern Pittsboro Thursday morning.
Authorities searched the home of Andre Landon Hill, 55, and his wife Shannon Lee Bailey-Hill, 52, at 400 Forest Creek Drive after a person claiming to be Andre Hill called the Chatham County 911 line and claimed he had killed his wife.
Deputies discovered the body of Shannon Bailey-Hill at the residence. The sheriff’s office says it had reason to believe Andre Hill was physically in Florence, Kentucky, just south of Cincinnati, and immediately contacted authorities there.
Later that morning, Florence officials located the body of Andre Hill. The sheriff’s office says preliminary evidence indicates the deaths may be connected, and circumstances “appear consistent” with a murder-suicide. The investigation is ongoing.
The sheriff’s office says investigators have contacted family members and are continuing to work with the Florence Police Department in Kentucky to review evidence.
