**UPDATE: Hillsborough Police say Kenneth Lynn Jordan “has been located and is safe.”**
The Hillsborough Police Department is looking for the public’s help in locating a resident on Tuesday.
A release from the department said 62-year-old Kenneth Lynn Jordan has been entered into the N.C. Center for Missing Persons database. The organization, along with police, said Jordan is believed to have a cognitive impairment and is being sought in part because he has not been located since a fire either at or near his residence.
On Tuesday morning, Hillsborough Police, the Orange Rural Fire Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of Faribault Lane, according to the release. The department later confirming the fire happened at Jordan’s home and it was his last known location.

Police described Jordan as a 5-foot-11 white man and weighing around 250 pounds. He has short gray hair and green eyes and may be wearing glasses. Tuesday’s alert added that Jordan is believed to be driving a white 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, which does not has a license plate assigned to it.
Hillsborough Police said while investigating the fire, Jordan’s family informed first responders that he has a cognitive impairment. The cause of Tuesday’s fire remains under investigation, according to the release.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have information on Jordan’s whereabouts and wellbeing to contact Sgt. Alex Gregory with Hillsborough Police at 919-296-9500 or by email.
