Cates Creek Park in Hillsborough is now open for use by the public.
The town officially opened the park in the Waterstone development on Tuesday.

You may find it a bit difficult to get to the park in the immediate future; the opening of the roadway – Cates Creek Parkway – has been delayed. Officials say they expect to be able to open the roadway “soon, once signage has been installed by the developer.”
Cates Creek Park includes playground equipment, an irrigated multipurpose field with soccer goals – reservations for the field will be possible once the new town website is launched – along with picnic tables and benches.
The park totals 16.64 acres with the woods and property surrounding the developed area available for walking. The town has the option to plan additional facilities on the property but does not have any specific plans at this time, according to a release.
The park is currently accessible on foot or bicycle via an existing network of sidewalks and greenways.
The park will be open daily from eight o’clock in the morning until 30 minutes after sunset.
