A committee formed between Orange County and the Town of Carrboro is looking for public input to name the civic building under construction at 203 South Greensboro Street.

The building – commonly known as the 203 Project – will house multiple organizations, including Carrboro Recreation, Parks and Cultural Resources; the Orange County Southern Branch Library; the Orange County Skills Development Center and WCOM Radio. The facility will also include a parking deck with 171 spaces for vehicles and 70 for bikes.

Community members are asked to share ideas for names which fall “under either geographic, historical, ecological or functional categories or a memorial category,” according to a release from the town government. To read Orange County’s Property Naming Policy, click here.

Public engagement will run through June 14, and the committee will review all suggestions before making a recommendation to both the Orange County Board of Commissioners and the Carrboro Town Council. The 203 Project is expected to be completed by Fall 2024. For more information on the project, click here.
