Orange County’s John M. Link, Jr. Government Center will be closing for the foreseeable future due to unexpected repairs.
Chair of the Board of Commissioners Penny Rich said in an interview with WCHL’s Aaron Keck she expects the closure to last up to two years.
“We’re actually going to have to shut that building down for a while and move all the employees, scatter them around to different buildings,” she said. “That building needs some big time repair.”
This is not the first time the building at 200 South Cameron Street in Hillsborough has undergone major repairs, as Orange County’s Human Resources Department had to temporarily relocate to the West Campus Office Building in April.
The Link Building will be closing on Friday, November 22, and the board will be discussing remediation options for the building at its meeting Tuesday night. To find out where departments are being relocated, visit the Orange County Government website.
