Last week, the 203 S. Greensboro project returned to the agenda for the Carrboro Town Council and Orange County Board of Commissioners, as elected officials weighed troubling news about the rising cost of the new building. That conversation continues this week, as board members get an update on the project’s guaranteed maximum price.

Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.

Orange County

The Hillsborough Board of Commissioners will meet remotely on Monday, March 14, at 7 p.m. Board members will continue discussing recommendations from the Mayor’s Task Force on Re-Imagining Public Safety. Click here for the full agenda.

Orange County Commissioners and the Carrboro Town Council each meet on Tuesday, March 15, at 7 p.m., with the 203 S. Greensboro project tops on both agendas. The Carrboro Town Council is still meeting remotely, but Orange County Commissioners will meet in person at the Whitted Building in Hillsborough.

No regular meeting for the Chapel Hill Town Council this week; instead, council members are holding a retreat, Wednesday, March 16, starting at 4 p.m. at the Rizzo Center. Council members will examine their 5-year strategic plan and next year’s budget, to determine how well they’re supporting the town’s goals and objectives. Click here for the full agenda.

And the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Board meets Thursday, March 17, at 6 p.m. in the Southern Human Services Center. Board members will discuss Superintendent Nyah Hamlett’s budget proposal for next year, and members of the public will also have a chance to weigh in. Click here for the full agenda.

Durham and Chatham Counties

In Chatham County, the Pittsboro Board of Commissioners meets at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 14, with an agenda that includes a resolution on water distribution and a discussion about a future new Town Hall. Click here for the full agenda.

Meanwhile in Durham, County Commissioners also meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 14.
