Grubb Properties will name the first two buildings in their Glen Lennox redevelopment after influential women.
The Gwendolyn, a 106,000-square-foot office building, will honor Gwendolyn Harrison, the first African-American woman to attend UNC.
Link Apartments Linden will pay homage to a design of Lucienne Day, a British textile designer who pioneered in abstract pattern-making.
Grubb Properties plans on a series of names for Glen Lennox structures that will seek to inspire a new generation of trailblazers.
“An important aspect of Glen Lennox’s redevelopment is making sure we honor individuals who contributed to the greater good,” Grubb Properties CEO Clay Grubb said in a release.
The Gwendolyn, which is planned to open in 2020, will offer a modern office space in the heart of Chapel Hill.
Link Apartments Linden will focus on active and fun lifestyles, including a fitness center, saltwater pool and a rooftop terrace.
