A public information session in Hillsborough will be held next week to educate residents on a local construction project that is expected to last for at least eight months.

According to a press release from the municipal government, the purpose of the project is to provide a variety of access improvements along Churton Street.

Listed improvements include two new bus stops in the vicinity of municipal buildings and sidewalk upgrades that adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has partnered with the town to bring the project to completion, with funding being made available by state and federal agencies.

Residents are encouraged to attend the information session, which will be held on March 20 at 6:00 PM in the Hillsborough branch of the Orange County Public Library.
