A suspect in the October murder of an Orange County resident is now facing new charges.

Cinnamon Collins, 49, is currently held at the Orange County Detention Center following a grand jury ruling of probable cause for Collins to face charges including first degree murder. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Collins turned herself in Tuesday and is being held with no bond.

Authorities initially arrested Collins in October on charges of with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon related to an attack off Tuckers Trail in eastern Orange County. Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call the night of October 11 and found Jennifer McFalls dead in her residence due to stab wounds. Her son, Lakota Franklin, was also injured in the attack.

Before Collins’ initial arrest, authorities also arrested and charged Edward Eugene Snipes with first degree murder after he was found in Virginia the following day.

Collins is set to appear in court on the new charges December 12. She had previously been released from the Orange County Detention Center on bond.
