A Pittsboro man has been arrested after he was indicted on several child sex offense charges.

Officials with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said in a release on Monday night that 41-year-old Joshua Clark, of Jay Shambley Road, was arrested on Friday.

Few details surrounding the arrest are known. But Clark was charged with child abuse, sexual activity by a substitute parent, statutory offense by adult, statutory sex offense of person 13, 14, 15, sexual offense by adult and indecent liberties with a child, among other charges.

Clark was jailed under a $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on February 27.
