The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible for a shooting outside Mebane on February 9.
The sheriff’s office shared a release on Friday with photos of a vehicle believed to be driven by the suspect, or suspects, of a shooting that left three people injured.
Around 8 a.m. on February 9, a vehicle riddled with bullet holes arrived at UNC Hospital in Hillsborough, carrying three people with gunshot wounds. Sheriff’s deputies began an investigation, which determined the shooting happened on Industrial Drive, a road that runs parallel to Interstate 40/85. Authorities later said the shooting was determined to not be random or an incident of road rage.
The photos, taken from video footage received by nearby buildings, shared on Friday show a grey or silver four-door sedan.

Sheriff Charles Blackwood announced he is offering a $2,500 reward to anyone whose information may help solve the case.
“We are so fortunate,” said Blackwood in a release, “that the three people shot last week, including a seven-year old child, are out of the hospital and recovering from their injuries. But this crime represents a frightening level of violence and disregard for human life. We are asking for the public’s assistance to help us solve this case and send a powerful message about the kind of behavior our community simply will not tolerate.”
Kevin Stewart is the lead investigator for the shooting. Anyone with information about the case or who might have seen something noteworthy the morning of February 9 is encouraged to call him at 919-245-2925.
