The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for a suspect who allegedly broke into more than a dozen vehicles.
A release from the office on Thursday said warrants for the arrest of Tarik Jihad Greene of Manassas, Virginia, were issued on Wednesday. Greene is accused of 20 counts of felony breaking-and-entering charges to motor vehicles, eight larceny charges, three larceny of firearms charges, four financial transaction card theft charges and more.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators responded to numerous motor vehicle break-ins on May 12 and 13. Fingerprint work from the vehicles and recovering surveillance footage of some of the break-ins helped move the investigation forward. The office said further information obtained by investigators ultimately linked Greene to the area and the committed crimes.
The warrants for Greene are still pending service as of Thursday afternoon. Anyone who may have information about the suspect’s location is encouraged to call the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office at 919-542-2911.
