The Chapel Hill Police Department is continuing to seek the public’s help in an ongoing hit and run investigation, releasing new information to the community on Wednesday.

On December 17, a bicyclist riding along Homestead Road in Chapel Hill was struck by a vehicle around 7:30 p.m. The victim was taken to UNC Hospitals that evening for further treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. At the time, no vehicle description was available.

Now, however, the police department has released details on a vehicle they are searching for in their investigation of the hit and run incident. A release from Chapel Hill Police said they are seeking a blue 2006-2011 model Chevrolet HHR. Authorities said the front of the vehicle may be damaged or may have had recent repairs.
