Authorities are investigating a potential home invasion in a Chapel Hill neighborhood Wednesday night.
The Chapel Hill Police Department said officers responded to a report of a home invasion near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in the afternoon. The victim reportedly followed the suspects, who then abandoned their vehicle near Lakeshore Drive, a road in the Lake Forest neighborhood and near Eastwood Lake.
Following an initial investigation, the police department said it believes this was not a random act, with the victim and suspect potentially knowing each other.
Chapel Hill Police say anyone with information about Wednesday’s incident in encouraged to call 911.
