The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating a bank robbery on Friday morning, with one suspect detained by the authorities.
A release from the department said at 10:01 a.m., officers responded to a robbery at the State Employees’ Credit Union located at 310 Pittsboro Street, which is nearby to UNC’s campus.
Police said no weapon was displayed and there were no reported injuries. Officers located a suspect and the department says a charge is pending.
The SECU branch has been robbed before, most recently in 2019.
