The Chapel Hill Police Department served a woman criminal summons for stealing nearly 500 lottery tickets from her employer, a Circle K gas station on Franklin Street.

According to the department’s police reports, 36 year-old Jacinta Renee Watson is accused of a single charge of larceny by employee over the theft of 490 lottery tickets listed as stolen on March 6. Officers served criminal summons to Watson on Thursday morning.

The reports list the tickets as having approximately $800 of value and were taken from the Circle K on the corner of East Franklin Street and North Estes Drive.

Watson, whose address is listed as Durham, is listed in the report as a clerk for the gas station. She is also accused of stealing audio and video recordings, as well as business documents.

Larceny by an employee is a felony charge.

The Chapel Hill Police Department lists Watson’s court date as June 29 in Hillsborough to respond to the charges.
