After dozens of lawn and power tool thefts off Old Fayetteville Road in Carrboro, one man has been arrested following a new incident this week.
At approximately 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, a Carrboro police officer was conducting a routine patrol in the Carol Street area and observed a suspicious person.
Kenneth Wilson Fearrington, 57, of Carrboro was identified and charged with breaking into a nearby shed and taking multiple powered lawn tools. He is also charged with larceny and possession of burglary tools.
This isn’t the first time lawn and power tools have been taken from a shed in Carrboro.
According to the Carrboro Police Department, there have been approximately 25 incidents in the area surrounding Carol Street since July of this year. The total amount of property stolen is estimated to be more than $28,000.
Officials say these cases are still under investigation and additional charges are anticipated.
