The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is asking for public assistance following a larceny from a law enforcement vehicle on Monday.
Authorities said in a release that an AR-15 rifle and two 30-round magazines along with body armor belonging to the Sheriff’s Office were stolen from the vehicle while it was in Sanford.
Sanford Police are leading the investigation, but the whereabouts of the stolen items was unknown as of late Monday night.
“We are asking the public to call the Sanford Police Department with any information they can share regarding this case,” Chatham County Sheriff Mike Roberson said in a release. “With your help, we can locate these items and see to their safe return.”
