As closings continue due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, University Place has formally announced that the mall is “now closed for all non-essential services.”
Posted signs on exterior doors state that University Place is “closed until further notice.”

Despite University Place’s closure, certain businesses remain open – albeit with limited hours. Harris Teeter has designated Monday and Thursday mornings from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. as “senior shopping hours” while reducing operating hours in general.
Alfredo’s Pizza Villa, Stoney River Steakhouse, Bartaco, Hawkers Asian Street Fare — all businesses with exterior entrances, as the interior of University Place is closed to the public – continue to offer takeout and delivery services. Chick-Fil-A has opened up “curbside service” thanks to a tent positioned near University Place’s main entrance.
The Sun Trust bank and the Circle K/Kangaroo gas station also remain open, with hours subject to change as the situation develops.
In a Facebook post announcing its closure, University Place also encouraged patrons to “call the store or restaurant or venue you wish to visit to verify operating hours.”
